Objectives

Leonard Cheshire has been supporting disabled people for almost 70 years both in the UK and internationally. In addition to our social care settings, we run skills and employment programmes, social action groups and campaign and lobby for the rights of disabled people. Volunteers are vital in supporting all our activities in a variety of ways from befriending and mentoring to using specialist skills within our Head Office functions.

Activities

  • We offer person-centred support through our social care settings and our programmes.
  • We campaign on disability-related issues
  • We promote the social model of disability
