Objectives

We are a heritage railway which aims to preserve the former Leighton Buzzard Light Railway, a former industrial railway built in 1919 to move sand from the quarries to the north of the town to the main line railway. The Society that does this has been in existence since 1967. We aim to preserve one of the few narrow gauge industrial lines in England and have what has been acknowledged as one of the finest collections of narrow gauge steam and diesel locomotives in the country.

Activities

We do this by operation a public  passenger train service on about 85 days in the year and by preservation of locomotives and rolling stock
