Objectives

Lead Scotland is a charity supporting disabled people and carers by providing personalised learning, befriending, advice and information services.  We have projects across Scotland and a national helpline and information service.  Our local services are community and home based, one to one or in small groups so that people have the right support to learn and participate. We support people to build a bridge to reach their ambitions of personal development, learning, volunteering and work. At a national level, we provide information and advice on the full range of post-school learning and training opportunities, as well as influencing and informing policy.

Activities

We provide disabled people and carers with a blend of face to face and remote adult learning opportunities, including qualifications. This includes one-to-one support, volunteer assistance and digital device loans. We build bridges to further learning, volunteering, and work, reducing isolation with dedicated befriending services.

We run a freephone helpline and information service to ensure disabled people understand their rights, funding and support entitlements in post school education.

We support people to influence change through our policy work, making Scotland a fairer place to learn, volunteer and work, having a say in decisions which affect them, undertaking research, challenging injustice.
