Objectives

We are a charity that for over 50 years has been bringing the highest quality live classical orchestral music to the arts-deprived, mostly rural communities of South Cumbria and North Lancashire. We also manage the accomplished Lakeland Sinfonia, an orchestra which is composed of primarily local talented amateur musicians. If it wasn't for us, you would probably never hear an orchestra as good as Halle or BBC Philharmonic in south lakeland. Also, the local talented amateur players would not have opportunities to play with world famous conductors and soloists.

Activities

We hold 8 live classical orchestral music concerts per year, performed by top national orchestras and occasionally internationally touring orchestras. Each concert is conducted by a national or internationally famous conductor, and features famous top quality soloists. Recent orchestras have included Halle, BBC Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Dunedin Consort and Lakeland Sinfonia.
