Objectives

We work in Kisumu, Kenya, helping very poor families to support their children through education, providing food, clothing and encouragement. We then provide steps into work so that tomorrow’s generation can stand up on their own without charity.

Activities

Operating in a suburb of the Kenyan city of Kisumu, our charity works with one specific community. For 20 years we established and ran a highly respected children’s home which receives only local authority-referred children. Having successfully placed each child into a suitable family environment, we are now focussing all our efforts upon the community’s neediest families, providing emergency food and offering new skills training. We continue to support the local government primary school of 900 pupils where we have built 4 new classrooms, refurbished 10 more and drilled a bore hole providing fresh water for toilets we plan to build soon.

On recommendation from the Head Teacher, we aim to provide funding to enable the most disadvantaged children to complete their education or vocational training, enabling them to each reach their potential.

As a Christian-based organisation, full of ordinary people, we want to express God's love in actions and words, trying to live out this verse, amongst others: " ...let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." (1 John 3:18)
