Objectives

To provide information, advice and support to disabled people living in the Royal Borough of Kingston and the surrounding area and to empower them to have a voice, take control of their lives, and be treated equally.

Activities

  • Successfully embed the new Direct Payment Support Service contract across KCIL so that all contractual requirements are delivered to commissioner requirements, within budget
  • Explore the viability of closer working with Staywell Kingston, Richmond Users Independent Living Scheme (RUILS) and other organisations in the SW London area
  • Support the work of local service user group parliaments, including the Visual Impairment Parliament and Youth Parliament, increasing the voice of disabled people 
  • Successfully set up, manage and evaluate the ‘Living with Disabilities’ 2017 Conference
  • Complete and evaluate the ‘Fighting for our Rights’ project
  • Develop the 2017/18 Stakeholder Communications and PR Plan
  • Review all policies, processes and training to ensure all KCIL staff have the tools required to deliver our services and business plans as effectively as possible.
