Objectives

Kingstanding Regeneration Trust's purpose is to create projects that support the local community whilst helping NEET (not in education, employment or training) young people aged 16 – 25 thrive in employment. Our programme provides accredited entry level training, work experience and one-to-one support addressing the many barriers that prevent NEET young people gaining jobs such as homelessness, caring for family members and addressing adverse childhood experiences.

Activities

Our young people gain work experience by volunteering on projects that support our local community. In past projects, they’ve brought four vandalised parks back to life, built planters on the High Street and transformed shared spaces in residential areas. A pilot project where young people transformed the gardens of elderly people was hugely successful for both generations and we would like to extend this project.

Our young people are disengaged from education, lack basic qualifications or workplace skills. Our project is entirely free and proven to succeed.  KRT has successfully helped over 300 young people into work in the last 5 years; with over 70% of trainees finding sustainable work within 8 weeks of completing the course and 24% taking up further training opportunities.
