• In Kind Direct redistributes all kinds of surplus everyday essential products (end of lines, overstock, short-dated, slow moving, ex-promotions, slight damages, seconds, returns etc) from manufacturers and retailers to a network of vetted charities across the UK.
• Charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises benefiting are mostly small, local groups without the resources of the large national charities. Examples include women’s refuges, scout groups, youth projects, disability groups, hospices, children’s homes, hospitals, elderly people’s support etc. Since foundation over £145 million in value of goods has been distributed to 7,600 charities now.
• Benefiting organisations can use the goods in their operations or give them for free to the people in need they support. Receiving donated goods saves charities money so they can spend what they have on their core services, relieves hardship building confidence and self-esteem in their beneficiaries and helps charities improve and extend their services.
We convince manufacturers and retailers to donate their surplus products. They are delivered to our warehouse and then are offered on our website to charities which have joined our network for free. We are essentially an e-commerce 'Amazon for charities' except they pay a handling charge for our service rather than buying the goods. All the goods they choose are then delivered right to their doors.
