Objectives

Kenward Trust provides support to those affected by addiction, homelessness, and crime. Our work spans from sessions in schools to provide education to young people about the risks associated with drugs and alcohol so that they can make informed decisions, through to residential addiction rehabilitation and supported accommodation helping those who have been through a recovery programme to reintegrate back into society. Since we opened our doors we have helped to transform the lives of 10,000 individuals suffering from addiction issues and helped them create new lives for themselves in the community.

Activities

We offer a variety of services including:

Youth Service- we offer community outreach services for local councils providing early interventions to young people who may be starting to use drugs or alcohol problematically, as well as educating young people about drugs and alcohol. Additionally, we offer Think Differently sessions to schools across Kent to provide some of the vital education to young people about the risks associated with substances.

Residential Addiction Rehabilitation- We deliver a therapeutic programme of between 4 and 24 weeks, dependent on the needs of the individual, incorporating recovery focussed group work, individual counselling and key-working, art therapy, Therapeutic Gardens & Workshop sessions and education sessions. Our services are client-focused in order to offer a bespoke support plan that will help guide them to start their recovery journey.

Day Treatment- We also offer flexible, confidential support for those who need some help with their addiction but do not feel that residential rehabilitation is right for them. This can include counselling, recovery coaching, a programme of group work and also our free friends, family and loved ones support group.

Resettlement- We have Move On properties across Kent and East Sussex which provides our residents longer-term support helping them reintegrate back into society after already completing a recovery programme. This can involve helping them find more permanent accommodation, as well as finding voluntary or paid-for employment. Kenward Lodge also provides supported accommodation for 12 weeks to individuals who are accessing community drug and alcohol services within the community but struggle due to not having accommodation which is conducive to their recovery.

Kenward Place- In order to fundraise for the Trust we opened Kenward Place offering alpaca experiences, conference facilities, archery and disc golf.
