Objectives

Based in the heart of the Wyre Forest, KEMP Hospice provides a wide range of services, free of charge, to the people of Wyre Forest. We support individuals, families and carers experiencing life limiting conditions and through bereavement.

Life limiting conditions include heart disease, lung disease, kidney or liver failure, cancer, Motor Neurone Disease and, often, a combination of conditions which are limiting life expectancy.

Activities

We run a Day Hospice at our home on Mason Road in Kidderminster where we provide care for up to 14 patients each day. Our Day hospice is a nurse led unit focused on a patient’s needs while they live at home with life-limiting illness: this means that the nurses liaise with GPs, District Nurses and others supporting patients at home.

Privacy and dignity are core elements of our services which have a patient-centred approach: encouraging individuals to choose the type of care and support they wish to receive.

A patient’s well-being is monitored each visit and they're encouraged towards self-help, regaining confidence and maintaining independence.

Our Day Hospice patients can access Physiotherapy, Occupational & Complementary therapy plus Creative & Horticultural Therapy.

We have volunteers and experts in a number of creative areas that regularly come in to offer classes on all manner of things, such as painting, sculpting, gardening, even jewellery making.
