Objectives

The Kaleidoscope (Kingston) Housing Association own's the building, Cairn House, which provides accommodation and support for people who are experiencing mental health and substance misuse difficulties. The service user support is managed by our sister organisation,  Kaleidoscope Project.

This client group are one of the most marginalised and discriminated against and experience significant mental and physical health problems often compounded by homelessness. The project assists people to address their health issues and prepares them for future independent living wherever possible. The Housing Association provides management of the building and ensures that this resource is in a suitable condition and complies with legal requirements.

Activities

The trustees of the Housing Association meet quarterly with the manager of Cairn House and other representatives of the Kaleidoscope Project. We monitor activities within the project involving the use of the building including occupancy levels; use of the building maintenance budget and tenancy management (including notice to quit).  We ensure issues of health and safety are addressed and that finances are in good order. We support and work with the Kaleidoscope Project on issues of future development.
