Objectives

Kakou is a social enterprise looking to identify and remove barriers that exclude the disabled from accessing mainstream music, creative arts and wellbeing participation.

Activities

INCLUSIVE TECHNOLOGIES

We design and manufacture innovative products, offering mainstream features that are inclusive and accessible to all, without the need for special adaptation.

RESEARCH

Research and develop new ways to provide the disabled with opportunities to participate and collaborate in inclusive environments.

WORKSHOPS & CPD

We provide creative workshops suitable for all ages and abilities that stimulate the mind in a vast range of original, creative, practical and engaging ways.

Social Fuse is our community-focused programme that develops skills, and educates people about the contribution of the creative sciences to their everyday lives. We work with partners to deliver engaging arts, heritage and wellbeing activities and experiences.

Through Social Fuse we aim to do the following:

  • Engage –  create a platform for non-traditional STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) organisations to showcase their activities.
  • Collaborate – encourage collaborative partnerships with the public, private and third sector – for greatest impact, reach and sustainability; fostering dialogue, shared learning and best practice.
  • Inspire –  to experiment with radically different approaches and develop inspiring, inclusive, accessible and sustainable programmes that will engage audiences in our communities.

All of our community projects are now from the Social Fuse website.
