Objectives

KAG provides knowledge, advocacy and support to vulnerable people in the local area. Our history is representing and supporting people to have a voice when the long stay institutions were closed down and since then we provide many projects and services to support vulnerable people. To us anyone is vulnerable due to their age, health, disability and or circumstances. Our projects support people with debt, housing, reduce isolation and loneliness by visiting people as well as supporting people to get back into employment as well as supporting vulnerable detainees in police custody.  Our organisations provides support to help people resolve their issues which enables them to improve their health and wellbeing.

Activities

KAG has many projects that support vulnerable people and these include;

  • a dedicated project to support people with dent and benefits and housing
  • supporting people who are vulnerable when being questioned by the police
  • visiting services for isolated older people in their own home as well as in care homes
  • project to support people back into employment and or education
  • working with younger vulnerable adults with training and counselling
  • statutory work under the Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act
  • Inpatient work at a psychiatric hospital
