JGPACA is a Cultural; Curatorial; Research; Arts and Educational Resource, about cinema. It is currently mainly physically accessible with plans and action to be digitally accessible. It is flexible and has provided access to its collection for students and faculty in educational institutions, filmmakers and artists, curators, community workers and it has worked with major arts and cultural institutions, cinemas and educational partners. It is works in ways that allows flexibility to be able to work with other partners and for elements to tour, nationally and internationally. It works to encourage a wider movement to make other black film materials available to a wider range of people beyond the film industry and academia and to encourage the vaping of personal an d community audiovisual archives.
The organisation receives researchers and visitors to the archive (by appointment) on a regular basis; it organises seasonal screenings and talks/discussions in various contexts (some free of charge at its base at MDR or at the Stockwell Park Community Centre), others in collaboration with major cinemas including the BFI and ICA. It works in collaboration to present its holdings on display in various multidisciplinary arts exhibitions ('The Place is Here' Nottingham 2017; Get Up Stand Up show at Somerset House 2019); and it has run summer school youth film project in conjunction with the National Maritime Museum 2019. It has had exhibitions and seminars at Birbkbeck Institute of the Moving Image and at UAL colleges Chelsea and CSM.
