Objectives

The Jade Mutua Trust Foundation was set up in 2020. This was in memory of Jade Mutua who tragically Passed away in August 2019, following a road traffic incident in Kensington.  Jade was only 22 years old and she was studying social work at College and she aspired to eventually become a social worker to help young people who faced hardships and disadvantages.

To keep the memory of Jade alive the foundation aims to build on the same aspirations that Jade had. This is by providing funding and support to young people aged 16 – 25 who live in London. We recognised there are many young people who need guidance in finding their path to success.

At the Jade foundation we provide a 12-week programme that is designed to build esteem and self-confidence in and self-efficiency. The aim is to empower young people to move onto higher education or training and maximising their chances in life. The organisation is ran throughout England and Wales, but the main target is in London.

The programme has a core component with additional components aimed at specific groups of young people.

The programme can be tailored to meet the needs of the following groups;

❖ Young people in care system

❖ Young parents

❖ Young women

❖ Young people with disabilities

The Jade Mutua Foundation Core Principles and Values:

❖ Respects the unique and inherent worth of all individuals.

❖ Moral and ethical integrity.

❖ People-centred development.

❖ Fairness and equity.

❖ Good governance.

❖ Honesty, transparency and accountability to stakeholders.

❖ Independence.

❖ Communication and collaboration.

❖ The betterment of Youth

The purpose of Jade Foundation is to provide sustainable livelihood intervention and opportunities to support the young people who would not typically get the financial aid that we provide. We also help the most vulnerable people in the London communities. Consequently, this will result in having access to better education, and employment opportunities which in turn will be a catalyst to creating bright futures.

Activities

The objective of the foundation is to offer the relief of financial hardship, either generally or individually, of people living in the United Kingdom by providing grants to aid them in paying for products and services. This is something that we believe to be very important as many young people are struggling financially with no one to turn to. But this is where we as a foundation will come in to help.

Furthermore, the CIO will be a where young people up to the age of 25 living in London can gain advice, assistance. We aim to organise programmes of physical, educational and other activities as a means of:

(a) advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals;

(b) advancing education;

(c) relieving unemployment;

(d) providing recreational and leisure time activity in the interests of social welfare for people living in the area of benefit who have need by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances with a view to improving the conditions of life of such persons.

This will all be achieved by providing funding and grants to individuals and other charitable organisations who fit our charity objectives. The benefits are that we will help disadvantaged people under the age of 25 access education,training and employment which will improve their overall social welfare and life chances.

The ultimate goal is to get a community centre which will be open to all, to help all of those in need, especially the young people. The community centre will be seen as a safe haven for all of those in need. In the centre people will be able to come and have tutoring for education, fitness classes to relieve stress and increase physical health. They will also be able to come and meet people like them creating friendships.
