We aim to end rough sleeping in Cambridge by bringing together people, organisations, ideas and finance that take conversation into action and into sustained change in housing, support, employment and care.
We convene Action Groups of interested parties around specific topics, and encourage and help the groups raise funds and turn ideas into action. Ideas are taken forward by partner organisations, or by ourselves, or by setting up a new charity for the purpose. At present we are working with a women's group to develop a new respite service for vulnerable women, with a group of organisations offering practical support to former rough sleepers and with a group of people with lived experience of homelessness who help to ensure services are co-produced. We have set up mentoring, employment and chaplaincy support delivered by partners. We are providing year round support to former rough sleepers in "move-on" accommodation, and running a winter project to get rough sleepers off the street into en-suite accommodation with support. We have set up a new housing association working to develop small modular home schemes for former rough sleepers. We run a comprehensive web-based information service.
