IT Schools Africa (ITSA), is a registered Cheltenham based charity with a mission to transform lives through access to and improved use of e-Learning technology. We help students and teachers in Africa and support local community groups in the UK who struggle to access digital education. We help to provide quality education through the reuse of donated computers; these are refurbished and upgraded in the UK and distributed via our partner charities in Africa. Digital skills enable people to improve their education as well as opportunities to access better employment after leaving school. Our UK programme, provides training, equipment and digital skills helping to improve access to digital technology for digitally disadvantaged and/or excluded people in Gloucestershire.
We provide refurbished computers and educational software to schools in Africa. ITSA has sent over 65,000 computers to schools in Africa, installed 33 computer labs, trained over 840 teachers in IT and are estimated to have given access to IT to 5.3 million children. Since 2017, we have supported 100 local projects in Gloucestershire giving access to digital skills to 17,000 users.
