Objectives

Ipswich Housing Action Group is a Registered Charity that was set up in 1976 to provide housing and other services for single homeless people in Ipswich – today we provide a range of services to over 5,000 people a year across Suffolk. IHAG’s Money Advice Service is a free, confidential and professional service which is here to help people find a solution to their debt and/or benefit problems. Our friendly team of advisers can provide support by phone, email or face to face and will do so in a relaxed and non-judgmental way.

Activities

Housing

We have been supporting individuals in our Hostels for almost 40 years.  Our Housing Team is responsible for supporting up to 55 tenants in 14 shared houses in Ipswich, including one house for people in recovery from drug misuse, called the Safe House.

Day Advice Services

There are many reasons why someone becomes homeless, it could be the breakup of a relationship, an addiction, or the loss of a job that has meant rent couldn’t be paid. You don’t have to be sleeping rough to access our services, you may be living in bed and breakfasts, sleeping on friends' floors or living somewhere that you don’t feel is safe or secure. The Centre is here to provide a safe place for people to come and get confidential advice, support and guidance in a relaxed non-judgemental way
