Integration Support Services was founded in May 2004, by a group of migrants who had personally experienced difficulties after moving to the UK. Originally a community group, ISS became a registered charity in 2007, allowing the charity to diversify its work streams. Since then, ISS have been supporting refugees, asylum seekers, vulnerable migrants, and other ethnically diverse groups by offering holistic approach and care. Integration Supported Services (ISS) mission is to support the successful integration of migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, or any other Ethnic Minority group in Essex and Hertfordshire, with a vision of an integrated society whereby inequalities and barriers between different races, origins and beliefs are non-existent.

At ISS we have a team working around a person and offering English language provision (e.g. ESOL classes, Conversation clubs, Reading Clubs), information, advice and support in many areas including but not limited to: benefits, immigration enquiries, school and nursery applications, food provision, NHS navigation, registration with GP and/or dentist, housing enquiries, employment, domestic violence, hate crime. An initial wellbeing check is carried out to make sure the person's basic needs are met. We also provide a social session, trips, family clubs, women's club to improve social isolation. ISS work in partnership with local organisations to respond to the need and provide food parcels, hot meals, personal hygiene kits, clothing, furniture, IT devices, SIM cards, shelter. We try where possible to do it with the people and not for them.
