Objectives

The Institute is at the forefront of systemic training in the UK, and through this supports those working with families, both in statutory and voluntary organisations, in bringing systemic ideas into different contexts. Ultimately this impacts on children and families who benefit from systemic ideas being put into practice. We have worked with many Local Authorities who have seen an improvement in their service, in part due to the impact the training has had.

Activities

The Institute of Family Therapy is the largest family therapy and systemic practice education provider in the UK. It provides high quality training and clinical work in the field of systemic psychotherapy with families, couples and individuals. It runs a wide portfolio of courses, including those that lead to a qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy. It also runs a low cost therapy service as part of the MSc in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy.
