Objectives

Inspire All CIC is a not-for-profit social enterprise operating in and around Aylesbury. Our team works with women and men who have been victims of a trauma. This can take many forms including:

  • Domestic abuse
  • Psychological abuse
  • Verbal abuse
  • Racial discrimination
  • Sexual discrimination
  • Rape
  • Robbery
  • Bullying and intimidation - at home and at work
  • Financial fraud

Our support helps to take the individual from being a survivor of a trauma to a thriver who is able to move on with their life in a positive and planned way.

Over the last few years we have helped local residents to access services that had otherwise alluded them particularly when english was not the first language.

Our team treats each client as a unique individual who has a story to tell and needs to be listened to and believed before they can begin to move on with their lives.

Activities

It is important to us that each client has a bespoked plan of support and this sometimes needs to be in place before any counselling can take place. For example, being homeless due to domestic abuse must be addressed before any meaningful counselling can take place. It is unlikely that a client can think about how to acknowledge let alone deal with a trauma if they are homeless. Our team has excellent contacts with housing, social and legal services.

Our counsellors work with each client to create a unique personal plan to support their recovery and to enable them to move forward positively.

We offer 1:1 counselling - currently only by phone or virtual meeting due to Covid19.

In normal circumstances we run small group workshops based around art and music as key therapy tools. It is often a relief to discover that you are not alone in suffering a trauma. There is comfort in group support.

We signpost clients to housing, social services and legal support and often act in an advocacy role to navigate what can, given the trauma be an impossible bureaucracy.

Our team does not limit the number of sessions ;provided. These are determined by need and typically are between 4-6 sessions although we have had some clients who need only one whilst others needed 10. We are client-centric.

Clients are encouraged to keep in touch. Knowing that our support has helped is rewarding and it is often reassuring for the client to know that we will continue to support them long after they had originally been with us.
