Objectives

Our Aim:
To raise and develop the self-esteem and confidence of young individuals aged 13-30, so that they can realise their potential, benefiting themselves and the community they are part of.

What we do:

  • Support young people in achieving their goals and aspirations
  • Help young people improve their confidence and self- esteem
  • Help young people to develop their leadership skills
  • Help young people to find work experience and employment

Since beginning in 2012 we have worked with over 2000 people all over London and this number continues to grow. In 2015 we were runners up for the Prince's Trust Enterprise of the Year award for London and the South East, becoming one of three organisations to reach the finals.

Activities

What we offer:

A series of structured workshops on self-esteem, beauty, body image, education and employment, designed to focus on the core building blocks necessary for individual development and progression.

Coaching and mentoring services tailored to the individual needs of the young people that we work with. We ensure that each mentee has a one-to-one programme designed just for them, to help them achieve their goals and aspirations. Our mentoring staff and volunteers are fully trained in their roles of supporting young people.

A real world connection service where we connect young people with experts in different industries they’re interested in, helping them gain access to advice and opportunities for job shadowing through our mentoring programme and Future Choices events. We also signpost young people to other organisations where necessary e.g. Job Centre Plus, Brook, Housing Services & education services. This holistic approach ensures they have support and direction, giving them access to the right resources that can help further their development.

A community centred approach: We provide references for 6th Form, College, UCAS and employment where we have worked with a young person for a length of time. We also work with parents and guardians to keep them informed and to help them better support those in their care. We encourage our young people to work together to develop their own peer support networks enabling them to develop their abiltiy to help others. We continue to engage with other organisations to get the very best outcomes for our beneficiaries.

A safe immersive experience: All our staff and volunteers are fully trained, DBS checked, supported in their roles and adhere to Incredible Brilliant Youth’s policies. This ensures that they keep themselves and young people safe in our talks, workshops, mentoring and coaching sessions, and as our young people transition and move forward with their lives. This is all in accordance with our values and Safeguarding policy.
