Objectives

Imago is a social action charity working across Kent, Medway, East Sussex and London.  We deliver a range of services and projects; supporting independence, reducing social isolation and creating opportunities, for some of the most vulnerable in our communities. In addition we help voluntary and community sector organisations operate more effectively by offering a range of information, advice, resources, training and support.

Activities

  • Short Breaks service across Kent providing opportunities for disabled children & young people to have enjoyable social experiences as well as offering a valuable break for their parents or carers
  • Kent Young Carers,  East Sussex Young Carers and London Young Carers support for young people who are responsible for caring for a parent or family member who has a disability, mental health issue or substance abuse problem.
  • Safe an innovative youth-led mental health & wellbeing project funded by Medway council and from individual schools and community projects.
  • Evolve working with Young Carers and disabled children in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley aiming to reduce social isolation, increase confidence and self-esteem through 1:1 support, school work, respite, activities, family support and forum days.
  • Accredited Training for adults and professionals working within other community and charitable organisations.
  • Dial 2 Drive community transport scheme in West Kent.
  • Volunteer Centres offering support to charities and those seeking voluntary roles.
  • Wellbeing Navigator service in Medway offering people free impartial advice, support and guidance to remain independent in their own home and reduce hospital re-admissions.
  • Wellbeing Matters Navigation & Adult Carer Service in Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and Swale is a dual service supporting adult carers and adults with complex needs. 
  • Social Prescription connects people with appropriate community resources and support services, with the aim of enabling people to increase their independence and ability to self-manage, thereby reducing demand on health services .
  • CAMEO (Come and Meet Each Other) working with people over 50, living in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley, who are socially isolated or experiencing loneliness due to changing life circumstances.
  • Council for Voluntary Services (CVS) services offering a range of information, advice, resources and support for voluntary and community organisations in West Kent.
