Objectives

iDebate / IDEA achieves sustainable impact by promoting civil society and economic development on an international scale.

Our outcomes include the advancement of human rights, tolerance, equality, diversity, inclusion and active citizenship contributing to a more inclusive, open and prosperous society.

We are a global network with educational programmes in Central Asia, Middle East, North Africa, Europe and America providing opportunities for young people to develop critical thinking, intercultural fluency, non-linear literacy, conflict management, reconciliation, employability and advocacy skills - future skills for the global knowledge economy.

Activities

We see the development of critical thinking and critical consumption of information ( from the internet for example) as key requirements for the development of communities and ultimately civil society.

We have three core programmes in 2016-17 designed to deliver these outcomes for young people in schools and FE Colleges

  • World Debate Club
  • Art, Design and Advocacy Lab
  • iDebate World Championships

We also provide capacity buliding workshops for people working in social justice and youth settings to raise awareness of the use of debate to develop soft skills and employability.
