We are the Students’ Union for everyone studying at the University of Hull.
We are here to help you make your time at University count. We do that by supporting you connect, develop and change things.
Connect
When we asked students what they thought a key role of a Students’ Union was a common answer was to help you meet new people and build a support network at uni.
Get together
We do that by providing you opportunities to socialise at events like those held during WelcomeFest or our weekly Karaoke and Quiz nights.
A place to call your own
Our building is your building. Everyone has their own favourite place to get together for coffee or just chill between lectures.
Hull Stars and HUU Homes can offer you support you during you hunt for the perfect place to live during your studie.
Something for everyone
We support over 150 student led activities like sports and societies so you can meet students that have the same interests as you or who also want to discover a new passion.
Develop
We’ve heard loud and clear that even from your first day on campus you are pursuing your dream job. That’s why everything that we do is focused on is supporting you grow and develop skills for the future.
Get involved
Each of our clubs and societies are run by students who are responsible for the decisions and day-to-day running of the groups. You can develop skills like leadership, project management, teamwork, budgeting and people management by getting involved.

Our volunteering team can connect you with hundreds of potential roles across thousands loads of different sectors. Every opportunity is different, and they give you a chance to hone your skills in your area of choice. Not only will you be helping a local charity, but when it comes to a CV or interview you’ll have loads of great examples of your skills in action.
Change Things
We exist to represent your view and ensure your opinions are heard (by the University, the government or anyone you need to tell). That’s why you’ll notice us talking a lot about how, if there’s something that you don’t think is right we will help you change it. Your representatives are by your side throughout your University journey to listen to your opinions and ensure your voice is heard.

Your fellow students is represent you as decisions are made that will affect your time at University making sure that the people taking the big decisions are considering your day-to-day reality.
They’re on your course
We think it’s important that your academic experience is a two-way conversation. To help that happen we work with over 450 student course reps across the University that you can give feedback about the teaching, assessment and organisation on your course.
They’re leading the organisation
From your elected Presidents to our Board of Trustees, students are at the very top of our organisation, working with our teams to deliver the student experience we are proud of.

We’ve made is really easy to put forward ideas to make improvements to your Students’ Union and University. In the last year, we’ve responded to loads of requests from more vegan options in our food outlets to improving the accessibility of our shop.
