Hospices of Hope is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting the development of palliative and end-of-life care in South and East Europe. Our vision is for all patients suffering from terminal or life-limiting illnesses to have access to specialist hospice care services, free of charge – because everyone deserves to live and die with dignity and without pain.
The Hospices of Hope Network includes Hospice Casa Sperantei and Hospice Emanuel in Romania, BELhospice in Serbia, Hospices of Hope Moldova, Ryder Albania in Albania, Merimna and Nosilia in Greece and charity fund St. Panteleimon for the Regional Palliative Care Centre Ivano-Frankivsk in Ukraine.
Our strategy is to increase access to free hospice care so that everyone suffering from terminal or life-limiting illnesses in South and East Europe receives specialist end-of-life care when they need it.
We provide funding to our country partners but we cannot achieve full access to hospice care simply through finance. So we also provide advocacy, technical expertise and training and work with governments and other agencies to develop national strategies for end-of-life care.
