Objectives

Hospice and palliative care concentrates on the person, their past, present and future, as well as their symptoms.

We combine the best available medical and nursing care with emotional support and care of the spirit. We listen to what is important to every patient, their family and friends, what really matters when time is precious.

Our team consists of highly trained doctors and nurses and a range of other professionals including our supportive care team, chaplain, complementary therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and catering team. Everyone works together with a huge band of volunteers to ensure the best experience possible for patients and those close to them.

Our catchment area extends from Amersham, Chesham and the Chalfonts to Tring, Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Harpenden and surrounding villages.

Activities

We care for patients with a wide range of life threatening illnesses – cancer, heart disease, lung disease and neurological illness.

Our free care is provided to all who need it regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or socio-economic background.

Care is given in our Inpatient Unit and The Spring Centre which includes outpatient clinics and carer groups. Our care is also available beyond the Hospice building, in the home, in local hospitals and nursing homes.
