Hospice Hope works within North West Leicestershire to support individuals who have a condition that leads to a reduction in quality of life or who have been diagnosed with a life limiting condition as well as offering support to their partner or carer.
The demand for our service has grown enormously during the lockdowns due to Covid 19 and we are committed to remain ahead of the game exceeding expectations, and we need excellent skills of committed individuals who can help us grow the service we offer. The best boards are diverse, with people who have a real understanding of the needs to be met and others who have specific skills and knowledge that can complement that.
We run a Day Care Centre for individuals who have conditions that lead to a reduction in quality of life for them and their carer
We run sessions for patient/guest and carer to enable them to do something together without having to worry about the practicalities of life but just to enjoy.
We run 4 Support Groups in local villages where a number of activities are enjoyed each week.
We have moved all of our services online during the pandemic, appointed a coordinator for these services and have a zoom activity every weekday. A befriending service, a counselling service, pen pals, have all been set up and the uptake has been amazing.
Our support cafe volunteers have made in excess of 30,000 minutes of support telephone calls to our guests since face to face services had to be suspended in March in addition to the calls made by the new team of volunteers who have joined us for the Befriending service.
