Objectives

Hope Nottingham is a registered charity established in 2010 based in Beeston, Nottinghamshire. It networks with local churches and agencies to provide relief from poverty, sickness and distress to vulnerable people in local communities and work alongside them to establish sustainable and fulfilled lifestyles. The organisation has grown and developed organically and now seeks to become more strategic in its outlook by strengthening the Board of Trustees with specific skills and experience.

Activities

  • enabling individuals, churches, community groups, businesses and others to give time and resources for the benefit of others. This includes money and gifts in kind (eg clothes, volunteering time and expertise).
  • relief provision through 15 foodbanks, clothing bank, individual funding support
  • advice through drop-in cafĂ©, debt/ benefits/legal advice, homeless/ health support
  • community development through provision of a safe welcoming environment that builds trust and encouragement. In this context people are most enabled to accept advice and to make progress, are encouraged to contribute time and skills to help others and so grow in self-esteem as part of a holistic community. Community development also encompasses intentional befriending and mentoring.
