Homelink is a nurse-led day respite centre that carers for 140 people each week so their carer can have a much needed break from their caring role. Over two thirds of the people that attend the centre have dementia. We are based in Whitton, Twickenham and clients come to us from the boroughs of Richmond, Hounslow, Sunbury and Kingston.
Homelink is run by a team of trained nursing staff and 55 dedicated volunteers. We are open Monday to Friday and clients typically come to our centre one set day a week which gives their carer a day off and time to recharge their batteries. We have a varied programme of activities for clients to join in with including cookery, arts and crafts, gardening, exercise class, games and quizzes etc We also have visiting musicians on most days which most clients thoroughly enjoy. Our chefs cook a fresh two-course hot lunch every day and clients enjoy tea/coffee and biscuits throughout the day.
