Home-Start supports families and children living in the local community. it aims to support parents to cope with issues that can have an impact on a happy family life. Home-Start Pendle and Ribble Valley feel that early and positive intervention can help reduce adverse childhood experiences.
Home-Start recruits, trains and matches volunteers with families living in the area. Volunteers visit for a few hours a week, in the family's home and provide emotional and practical support. We also provide access to groups and activities and the support is for the whole family. Volunteers are non judgemental and build a relationship of trust with the family. The aim is to enable the family to be independent, resilient and active in their local community.
