Objectives

Home-Start Bracknell Forest is a local charity which has provided invaluable support and friendship to families in the Bracknell Forest area since 1993 and has achieved positive outcomes for hundreds of families living in the community.

We are a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through their challenging times. We are there for parents when they need us the most because childhood can’t wait.

Activities

Accessing local services

There are lots of different organisations that provide support to families, but it can sometimes be difficult to find out about the ones that can help. One of the most important roles played by our volunteers is to help people access local services.

Free voluntary confidential support

Home-Start support is completely free, you do not have to pay for any of our support and support is entirely voluntary.

Group support

Fun for the children and great for the parent too - sometimes tailored for their specific needs.

Home visiting

A Home-Start volunteer will visit the family in their own home, usually once a week, for a couple of hours. The parent decides what they will do together. They can help with practical tasks, offer advice and share their experience of being a parent or support them through emotional issues.
