Holding On Letting Go helps bereaved children and their families throughout the whole of Kent. We offer a bereaved child a place on one of our bereavement support weekends where we can give them coping strategies and an opportunity to share their story with other children who have been affected by a significant death of a loved one. We also hold a parent/carer support group. The children find attending a weekend very beneficial as they meet other children who are also struggling to come to terms with their grief and are able to talk in a safe and confidential environment.
We are currently holding 7 bereavement support weekends this year and will be helping around 180 families during this time. We now hold a weekend specifically for parents and their children who have been affected by stillbirth/neonatal death. We also have a weekend that is for children who have been affected by suicide/traumatic death.
