We are a charity for young people, 14-18 years old, developing community based leaders through the delivery of our empowering programme.
We have an experienced and talented team of volunteers who work tirelessly to deliver our programme. We have no paid employees.
The charity is founded on the belief in the leadership potential of young people.
Through attending our workshops and seminars they are inspired to raise their aspirations and engage in positive social action in their community.
We work with schools with a high percentage of SEN students and we believe this is important after the effect covid had on student socialisation and education.
The overall impact is encapsulated in this comment from a 2023 student:
"I have become more confident and resilient. I am not as shy as i was before the seminar and have progressed massively as an individual."
We hold regular half day workshops on school premises, reaching out to groups with up to 90 students, to deliver a taster of what HOBY UK is about and encourage attendance at our annual, residential seminar.
Our seminars are held on a university campus and include a full residential package of food and board. This ensures a safe and secure environment with excellent conferencing facilities. Th study bedroom accommodation also gives the young people a valuable experience of student living.
