Objectives

We are a mens mental health and prevention of suicide charity. We provide a support system for men struggling  across the south east of England. We were designed to bridge the gap in the health service. So far in the short time we have been operating as a charity, we have managed to fulfil our goals in supporting men that would of fallen within that gap.  We regularly receive referrals from other organisations such as GP’s, NHS and a variety of out reach organisations. Although their is great work being done in this industry still the rate of suicide is rising in men. Men often find it hard to express they are struggling and when they do they are mostly offered medication and never solving the issues that causing them to be offered medication.  We aim to reduce isolation and support a variety of areas that men are finding hard to cope with.

Activities

We provide a tailored service to meet the needs of the individual. we strongly believe that by providing alternative therapy and holistic treatments as well as professional counselling is needed to heal body and mind. We provide men's weekly online meeting along with other online group therapies. We are currently working on zoom evening for film nights, quiz nights book clubs music nights etc to reduce the feeling on loneliness Each service user is allocated a keyworker that will ensure that they have someone to contact in between counselling/therapy session. Keyworkers will help with a variety of different problems causing worry,  filling out benefit or other forms, helping with housing. encouraging them to take part in any workshops and courses that could aid in recovery and build confidence. Keyworkers are the heart beat of our organisation, they make phone calls and send texts to build trust and a friendship. they meet up for coffees and walks when possible. We have no timeline in place for the recovery for our service users, counselling and our services are ongoing until they are confident to leave the charity with the knowledge that they can come back to us at anytime. we aim to provide a family feel within our charity. We are a new charity with more than 75% of our team having lived in experience which helps us understand addiction, mental health and suicide, this reassures that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
