HighGround helps Service Leavers, Reservists and Veterans who are seeking jobs, careers and vocational opportunities in the land-based sector; farming, forestry, conservation, landscape design and much more. The military gives people fantastic skills and experiences which map perfectly over into the land-based sector and once HighGround has helped people to work out what they really want to do, we help them with work experience and training, and once they have found employment, how to keep it.
We are based in Westminster and our service ranges from a brief intervention to provide someone with work experience contacts, to Rural Weeks which we deliver at agricultural colleges where we provide an overview of the land-based sector which helps people to decide what area they would like to work in. In addition, we are proud to provide the Horticultural Therapy service at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court, where Carol our Horticultural Therapist is embedded in the team of Occupational Therapists and provides a full time HT service to DMRC’s patients.
