Objectives

The High Street Centre is a registered charity working in the community of Rawmarsh Rotherham.

1 We provide a community space 'The High Street Centre' which is used by over 50 groups and organisations - some of these groups have been established by the High Street Centre and now run independently.  This means that hundreds of people access the building each week.

2 We provide a range of services and activities to support local people for varying ages.  These were established based on local needs identified in our community.

Our activities are for people living in the community of Rawmarsh and aim to reduce isolation, development friendships and increase health and well-being.

Activities

We provide a range of activities which includes afterschool childcare which collects children from local primary schools; we encourage volunteering and provide support and training; we deliver job search support and help with CV writing as well as a range of social activities that reduce isolation.

We provide a multi-use community building with five rooms available for hire and a community kitchen.  We are currently investigating the opportunity to build a reception at the building.
