  • Healthwatch Southend is an independent community champion ensuring local people have a voice regarding their local health and social care services
  • We reach people through engagement to make sure everyone gets their say
  • We represent the views of residents through our roles on boards such as the Health and Wellbeing Board, Essex Quality Surveillance Group, the People Scrutiny Committee and Southend Safeguarding Adults Board
  • We act as a critical friend to local service providers and commissioners and work with our partners in the public, voluntary and private sectors to drive improvements
  • We work with Healthwatch England to shape improvements nationally
  • We will build our volunteer portfolio with board level membership, Volunteer Visitors (Enter and View) and Volunteer Mystery Shoppers
  • We highlight gaps in services
