Objectives

Health Nation is a grassroots community health programme initiative currently being set up by a group of community and health workers in London, aiming to help people from disadvantaged backgrounds lead healthier and happier lifestyles, through a range of programmes, information giving and by working in partnership with the NHS and other local providers.

Activities

We aim to achieve our objectives by providing easy to understand factual information and fact sheets, information sessions, access to health related specialists, including dieticians, nutritionists and fitness instructors, facilitating introductory health and fitness sessions to give people a taste of keeping fit and healthy and carrying out questionnaires to help understand people's lifestyles, behaviours and attitudes towards health and aim to use that information to help shape our programmes.

We are planning to pilot our new charity in the London Borough of Newham, due to having one of the poorest health and income inequalities in the UK and use that pilot to springboard our charity in other parts of London and later England.
