Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum is located on the original 1825 route of the Stockton and Darlington Railway, the world’s first steam-worked public railway. The Museum is devoted to the area formerly served by the North Eastern railway, with particular reference to the Stockton and Darlington Railway, and the railway industry of Darlington.
We share Darlington's railway history through work on site and in the community, including our Learning projects and Community and Volunteering projects.
