Objectives

Head Held High is a Social Enterprise leading highly motivational and interactive workshops and programmes. The focus is personal and professional development and our work is aimed at young people who have been excluded, on the verge of exclusion, affiliated with criminal activity or generally lacking in motivation and displaying negative and destructive behaviour. Our work matters as knife and street crime has been on the increase in this country and in 2019 so far we have lost over 100 individuals to stabbings. We have been working alongside The Ben Kinsella Trust for the last 2 years who are an anti knife crime charity, merging our skills so we can offer hope to young people and help them feel the change on the inside in order to make the changes on the outside.

Activities

Head Held High meets its objectives as all our facilitators aim for each person who works with us to leave having tangible results. We use the Project Oracle monitoring and evaluation system to help monitor individuals progress. HHH sets weekly tasks that the young people need to achieve that they choose. This could be from being more respectful towards a family member, getting to bed earlier so that they can become more punctual, learning to be assertive rather than aggressive...the list is endless. We work intensively over 6 weeks to help young people transform their lives for the better, if this means we take action alongside them towards finding work experience opportunities then we do. Our message is for all of our delegates to become a product of their true selves and not their environment or past and we will do anything we can to achieve that.
