HVC is an award winning centre of volunteering excellence having been recognised on several occasions for the work undertaken in the community. HVC champions the voluntary sector and volunteering by connecting, representing and supporting voluntary organisations. Our services include training, consultancy, information, resources and toolkits on governance, campaigning, strategy, impact and volunteer recruitment and retention.

HVC aims to support and encourage volunteering, promoting equality of access to volunteer opportunities for all in Havering. HVC works in collaboration with organisations to develop volunteering opportunities, ensuring high standards in volunteer management and strengthening the voluntary sector in Havering.

HVC will never underestimate the importance or power of volunteering in the community and strives to change the perception and understanding of what it means to be a volunteer in the London Borough of Havering.

HVC is determined that the operations they undertake benefits the Voluntary Sector in Havering and aims to support all VCS groups to achieve their delivery of service by engaging the right volunteers to enable sustainability and consistency that benefits the community.

HVC fosters close partnership working with the voluntary, community and public sectors, we have an informed knowledge and understanding of what each organisation or sector is looking for in their volunteers.

This approach to engaging volunteers means that when HVC makes a volunteer referral to an organisation, the organisation knows that the potential volunteer has been matched with the organisations needs which will in turn assist with their internal recruitment saving them both time and resources.
