Objectives

Havens Hospices provides palliative nursing and supportive care to adults, young people and children living with complex or incurable conditions across Essex.

Our specialist Care Teams can support them and their family living throughout illness, death and bereavement, in the comfort of their own home and through our hospice services, Fair Havens and Little Havens.

We focus on their quality of life, caring for individual physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs.

Havens Hospices is a registered charity – not part of the NHS – and receives limited government funding. We don’t charge a penny for any of our care services. Our hospice care can only exist because of the support and generosity of the community. Together, we’re ‘Making every day count’.

Activities

Havens Hospices includes Fair Havens and Little Havens

What We Do

  • Little Havens provides palliative nursing and supportive care to babies, children and teenagers living with complex or incurable conditions across Essex. Our specialist Care Team can support them and their family throughout illness, death and bereavement, in the comfort of their own home or at our hospice.
  • Fair Havens – Fair Havens is our adult hospice in Prittlewell. It comprises a 16-bed In Patient Unit which provides palliative nursing and supportive care to adults living with complex or incurable conditions in Southend, Castle Point and Rochford.

Fair Havens Community Hospice Service incorporates:

  • Hospice at Home - If a patient’s wish is to die in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, Fair Havens Hospice at Home can help by supporting with discharges from hospital to home, offering planned and urgent respite in the day and overnight, and providing care at the end of someone’s life.
  • Fair Havens Hub - Fair Havens Hub is a place that focuses on innovative, individualised care and activities which help keep patients living well and independently with their condition for longer
  • Complementary Therapy – Complementary therapies are a range of supportive therapies offered alongside medical treatment, across all three hospices.

In addition, the Trading Office is based in Wickford with shops across Essex and new ones opening all the time.

Facilities, Finance and Fundraising are located at Fair Havens in Prittlewell.

Our Little Havens Facilities Team, People Team and Learning and Development Department are all based at Little Havens.
