The Haven Wolverhampton supports women and children who have been subjected to domestic abuse and homelessness by delivering frontline services that include support in the community and secure accommodation.
Established in 1973, The Haven Wolverhampton supports women and children vulnerable to domestic abuse, homelessness and abuse. We house approximately 67 women and 100 children at any one time, and support those living in their own homes, alone or with the perpetrator. Our focus is on holistic service provision, so women and children get all the help they need through their journey away from abuse.
We work with some of the most vulnerable women including:
• Black Asian and Minority Ethnic women who are some of the most at-risk of domestic homicide;
• Women with insecure immigration status
• Young women at increased risk of street homelessness;
• Women subjected to serious sexual violence and exploitation;
• Women experiencing mental ill-health and substance misuse.
In addition to accommodation and support in the community, our services include: 24-hour helpline; web-based live chat; counselling, therapy and women’s programmes; children and young people services; court advocacy; benefits and immigration support; and resettlement.
