Objectives

The leading charity in Harrow providing front-line services to address the issues affecting the social and emotional development of carers. These are people who provide unpaid care for a person that has a physical or mental health problem [45%] including autism, dementia and learning disabilities, or is dependent due to age and long-term illness. The estimated value from voluntary acts of caring in Harrow amounts to a staggering £0.45 billion every year!

We provide practical solutions and dedicated resources for carers and their families, and work in partnership with a number of local statutory, voluntary and commercial organisations in order to adopt a responsive and preventative approach wherever we can.

Over the last year, we supported over 3,500 carers and their families.

Activities

We provide a holistic service for carers of all ages to help improve their wellbeing and resilience so they can continue to care without compromising their health and social inclusion.

Services and projects include:

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing [from yoga classes to 1-to-1 sessions]
  • Respite [18 Care Workers!]
  • Older carers
  • Young carers [5-18]
  • HomeShare

We also act as a single point of contact for carers navigating other complex services such as Social Care and Welfare Benefits.
