At Handel & Hendrix in London, our mission is to promote knowledge, awareness and enjoyment of Handel and Hendrix and their music to as wide a public audience as possible.
We strive to inspire, educate and inform through the interpretation of the Georgian house at 25 Brook Street, where Handel lived and composed for 36 years, through live music performances, educational and outreach activities and collecting, exhibiting and interpreting objects related to Handel’s life and works. In addition, we aim to promote the continuing and diverse musical and cultural heritage of 23 Brook Street through its association with Jimi Hendrix who lived here in the late 20th century.
Volunteers play an invaluable part in the daily operations of Handel House and the Hendrix Flat. The volunteering programme not only provides a vital contribution to the organisation’s work, but also offers volunteers a wide range of benefits and the opportunity to develop new skill sets - all while enjoying live music and meeting like-minded people!
There are several different roles volunteers can step into here at Handel & Hendrix. These include becoming involved with the running of our social media sites, researching and giving public talks, becoming involved in our oral history outreach project and contributing to the creation of temporary exhibitions or a combination of a few of these. Training is always provided and we are committed to the continued personal development of our volunteers. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated skilled people to join our fantastic team during this exciting period of expansion and development.
