Objectives

Set in rolling countryside, Halstead is a community-spirited town, with a history that is reflected in the townscape. Yet these natural and built assets are not as well-known as they deserve to be, and some are at risk. Halstead 21st Century Group promotes, preserves and educates about the heritage in Halstead, Essex and surrounding areas for the public benefit.

Make representations to local councils
Man displays at local events
Arrange talks about our local heritage
Produce a quarterly newsletter
nominate structures to lists and inventories ( e.g.Local Heritage List, Ancient Tree Inventory
Take part in Open Heritage Day events
Participate in local projects (e.g. re-use of a local disused railway line, Essex market towns initiative, a school project
Raise awarenes of our heritage through blogs, social media and video
