Objectives

Hall Green Youth is a joint project of 4 Churches in the Hall Green area of Birmingham. We work with young people between the ages of 11 and 18. Our aims are to identify and meet the needs of young people in the area, increase young people’s confidence and improve understanding between generations. We do this through youth work in local secondary schools and by running a youth club from a community venue.

We aim to build lasting relationships with young people and be able to support them in their teenage years, as they discover who they are. Many of the young people that we work with are vulnerable and we know from our past projects that increasing their confidence and self-esteem has a direct link to improving their attendance and attainment at school which, in turn, improves their life chances.

Activities

Our team of two part-time youth workers and volunteers run weekly after school clubs for young people in two local secondary schools and a youth club in a local community venue in Hall Green, a diverse and socio-economically mixed suburb of Birmingham.
