Objectives

Haig is a charitable housing association which owns some 1500 properties across the UK, mainly in small estates, which it lets at an affordable rent to Service men and women and their families who are in need. Since 2010 the Trust has purchased 59 properties for Service personnel who have been injured or disabled in Service to enable them to live near their support network of family, friends and medical care. Haig also offers a transitional housing scheme of 8 one bedroom houses for Service leavers looking for work in the London area, at 60% of prevailing commercial rental rates.

Activities

The Trust operates out of its HQ on its largest estate in Morden, South London. Over 500 eligible applications are processed every year with out 80 new tenancies created per annum. Income from the letting of the properties is used to maintain and repair the properties.
