We are a council led Extra Care scheme for people 55 and over focusing on those with learning disabilities. Our aim is to provide a quality service, which responds to people’s individual needs and lifestyle and which will help them to live at home for as long as they wish.
To achieve our aim, staff will:
• Accept and respect each tenant as an individual
• Respect and promote the tenants’ rights to choice, dignity, independence and privacy.
• Recognise and build on tenants’ strengths
• Make sure our staff are well trained, committed and motivated
• Listen and respond as far as possible to the opinions and wishes expressed by a tenant about their care
• Work in partnership with the tenant, their family, other professionals and agencies as appropriate, in order to assess and meet their needs now and in the future
• Recognise and respect the valuable contribution made by unpaid carers
• Provide a service which does not discriminate on the grounds of sexuality, gender, race or religion
• Always work to high quality standards to continually improve our service
• Plan our services in partnership with those who use the service, their families and interested parties to make sure we are providing a service which people want to receive rather than what we want to deliver
In working to these values of respect and honesty we will deliver a service, which is both sensitive to the needs of individuals and effective in its outcomes.
The group shall be for discussing aspects of life at Clasper Court and will work for its tenants without distinction of political, religious or other opinions. These aspects will include all forms of recreation and issues with the building with the object of improving the condition for attendees.
The aims of this group are to
• Improve communication between residents and staff members
• Promote the interests and rights of residents
• Encourage participation in the wider social and community life of the neighbourhood
We work with local charities, health professionals and local cultural freelancers to ensure our tenants are happy and thriving. A wellbeing project with a dedicated lead was established in February helping the tenants make connections in the community and deepen their hobbies and interests
